New Talent..

Hello all! I hope you all had a very jolly xmas. Im sure your turkey got a right stuffing too. Santa also emptied his sack....all over my face. Going back to work on boxing day was not enjoyable but I had this guy keeping me going...

Kirsops the name. This guy has talent oozing out of him. Having studied singing at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and receiving a distinction in Electronic Music, he surely knows his stuff. I have also had the opportunity of sitting alonside him in his studio watching and listening to him write his tracks. Trust me...an incredible and euphoric experience, especially at 4am listening/writing 'This Music.' Him, being Dingle, deserves the credit and break any music artist strives for. Even though the production of the tracks are not as clean and crisp as they should be(there not finished), you can still understand the direction this chap is going. I hear he sits for hours and days writing. His patience and long hours in the studio have definitely had a positive effect on his work, and is clearly recognizable when listening to his tracks.

'Alone' is my favouritet track...soulful, deep, melodic and in parts euphoric. His gentle vocals help to compliment and soften the track. 'Alone' was most likely produced in another part of the world, as Dingle is on tour the majority of the time with his A-Cappella group Voces8. So you can probably understand where all his inspiration and creativity arises from. China, Europe, USA....alot to take in! The 3 tracks I recommend you have a little listen to are 'This Music' 'Alone' and 'Le Morceau Sulvant.' Feel free to comment as-well, everyone loves receiving a nice message!

The inspiration and creativity that he absorbs from around the world is very clearly, yet subtly  placed within each track.  Some of the time his writing its effortless as he knows exactly what he wants. From a Classical Singer to an Electronic Music Artist, what else has this talent got hidden in his satchel.....

Joey's Top 10 of 2009..

Me.

So as we embark on the final few days before xmas, I thought a Top 10 of 2009 was needed, and would help the chaos of xmas shopping...I haven't done mine.

Ma, Pa, Ding and George, don't get too excited, I may be doing a last minute shop at poundland.

The Top 10 of 2009

1. Miike Snow - In Search Of
THIS IS THE FUCKING NUTS! A continuous lift. I wanna here this live. Infact I have it playing in my living room, Nicks head is bobbing and my feet are tapping. Miike Snow is a Swedish band who formed in 2007. Andrew Wyatt, Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg are the talent behind this track. Nicks heads still bobbing...

2. Joy Orbison - Hyph Mngo
It has to be in the top 10. Has everything, heavy, soulful, deep, euphoric. Sexy vocals too! Peter O'Grady rocks. Close contender for number 1. Love it.

3. Florence and the Machine - Rabbit Heart (Leo Zero Remix)
I have a weird attraction to Florence. Rabbit Heart is a great track in its own right, but Leo Zero injects his own influence and style. Hearing this on the Rizzla Stage at Bestival was amazing. Also a bonus having your friends there to share it with.

4. Jamiroquai - Space Cowboy (Club Mix)
This tune has to be one of my all time favorites. I have always wanted to hear it at a club or a festival. So paying £145 for a Bestival ticket was justified when Tom Middleton played it at the Afterburner stage!

5. Keaver and Brause - Awake
I have only recently found this track but has made its way up the pile. Its like a different take on hip-hop. Much heavier and soulful. Really chilled. A morning song.

6. Touch Sensitive - Body Stop
From beginning to end this track just lifts you and puts another grin on your face. Deep and Funky.

7. Federleicht - On The Streets (Kollektiv Turmstrasse Let Freedom Ring Remix)
You always have to have a bit of techno...don't we Nick! These boys from Germany are linking not only their deep ambitions to electronic music with this project - they also link their passion for performing together. Let Freedom Ring!

8. Empire of the Sun - We Are The People
I'm sure you all know this Australian duo. Just love their sound. The lead singer has a great set of pipes on him too!

9. Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill (Datasette Remix)
Datasette have produced some mind blowing tracks this year and have matched that with their remixes. This remix is my fave.
Forgive me for the weird sounds before the track starts.

10. Fenech Soler - Lies
'English electro-pop wonderkids' as quoted by DJ Magazine. The big time is surely beckoning for these boys. Just sends out happy vibes! This is sure to fill the dancefloor. Loving the vocals. Keep your eyes on these guys, their sure to smash up 2010.

MERRY XMAS TO YOU ALL!
