Its been a while since a post. My comps gathered dust!

Toro Y Moi is a new interest. The stage name used by Chazwick Bundick.

He has been identified as the new 'chillwave movement of the summer.'

The decision to start a Blog was decided on the fact that one day, if I search hard enough, I will find THE track. A track that will fill me with an overpowering excitement and happiness. To me, all those long hours of listening to podcasts and mixes pay off when a track that lifts you from start to end is found. Every second and minute of this song excites me. I can happily say that this is my favourite tune of 2010..for the time being, I am sure a few more will crop up somewhere. It will definately be in my Top 10 by the end of the year. I know...a rash decision, but one I am happy to make. This sound inspires me to DJ and write music...maybe oneday?

I am in the process of putting together some Nu Disco/Disco tracks for a mix. So by the end of the year a Joeyplays Mix will be available. The vocals in this track are bone shivering and the repetative climb throughout the song only feeds the excitement...5.51 is the melting point!

Last night was alot to take. Leaving my friends house this morning was hard.

Even after having a shower I still felt groggy, and the lady who passed me on the way to work

certainly made me feel like dogshit.

As I write this entry, I want it to find my friends in Meribel, Val D'isere, Ana and Ale in Mexico, Fulham folk, Bella and co in Newcastle, George and the team in the US and Ding in Mississippi. I love everything about this track. It makes me think of friends and family. Wherever you all are..in the mountains, trekking across the desert, sitting on your sofa, driving, walking home, sailing across the Atlantic, travelling...even if you aren't having the best day...play this...you will be alot happier by the end.

Phonica is a cool record shop in Soho and I decided to spend a bit of time in there on my day off. I ended up staying so long that they offered me a sandwhich. I rejected it as I had just tackled a hoisin duck wrap from Tesco, which by the way was pretty rank. Stick to the sushi.

Whilst considering the sandwhich, The Juan Macleans rattled my headphones. Their tune 'One Day' is cool, old school 80s influence and the girls sweet vocals.

Hello all! I hope you all had a very jolly xmas. Im sure your turkey got a right stuffing too. Santa also emptied his sack....all over my face. Going back to work on boxing day was not enjoyable but I had this guy keeping me going...

Kirsops the name. This guy has talent oozing out of him. Having studied singing at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and receiving a distinction in Electronic Music, he surely knows his stuff. I have also had the opportunity of sitting alonside him in his studio watching and listening to him write his tracks. Trust me...an incredible and euphoric experience, especially at 4am listening/writing 'This Music.' Him, being Dingle, deserves the credit and break any music artist strives for. Even though the production of the tracks are not as clean and crisp as they should be(there not finished), you can still understand the direction this chap is going. I hear he sits for hours and days writing. His patience and long hours in the studio have definitely had a positive effect on his work, and is clearly recognizable when listening to his tracks.

'Alone' is my favouritet track...soulful, deep, melodic and in parts euphoric. His gentle vocals help to compliment and soften the track. 'Alone' was most likely produced in another part of the world, as Dingle is on tour the majority of the time with his A-Cappella group Voces8. So you can probably understand where all his inspiration and creativity arises from. China, Europe, USA....alot to take in! The 3 tracks I recommend you have a little listen to are 'This Music' 'Alone' and 'Le Morceau Sulvant.' Feel free to comment as-well, everyone loves receiving a nice message!

The inspiration and creativity that he absorbs from around the world is very clearly, yet subtly placed within each track. Some of the time his writing its effortless as he knows exactly what he wants. From a Classical Singer to an Electronic Music Artist, what else has this talent got hidden in his satchel.....

I have a weird attraction to Florence. Rabbit Heart is a great track in its own right, but Leo Zero injects his own influence and style. Hearing this on the Rizzla Stage at Bestival was amazing. Also a bonus having your friends there to share it with.

Old Skool dance still gets me buzzing.

It was only when I was very young I was

introduced to this next track.

My cousin dragged me into his room to check it out

and from there my taste for dance music grew.

Annie Mac dropped this into her set last year at Bestival

and I shall always remember it.

Its up there with 'Gala' "Freed from

Desire' and "Livin Joy' 'Dreamer.'

Around 3mins 30secs she nails the vocals....makes the tune.

MJ Cole's 'Sincere' is still to this day regarded the best 2-step track around.
